Prior to focusing solely on sports betting, Doug lived in Connecticut and hosted a multitude of ESPN programs, including its flagship show, SportsCenter. Since arriving in Bristol in 2012, Doug's anchoring duties included Baseball Tonight, NBA Tonight, Friday Night Fights, MMA Live, Outside the Lines and various college basketball studio content - as well as calling play-by-play for a hoops game.
One of Doug’s career highlights was serving as the main host for College GameDay on ESPN Radio for three seasons. The entire crew traveled to marquee games and broadcasted outside stadiums on a stage for seven hours every Saturday. Additionally, he has filled in on nearly all ESPN Radio shows, including Mike & Mike, Golic & Wingo and The Russillo Show.
Doug cut his broadcasting teeth in Missouri and Iowa, paying his dues with sports gigs that necessitated he carry the camera and tripod, shoot his own video and edit the material before anchoring his sportscast. He even learned how to apply his own makeup… That eventually landed him a job in Las Vegas as the Sports Director and main sports anchor for the ABC affiliate, KTNV-TV. He anchored the daily sportscasts, as well as the station’s high school football show and weekend magazine programs. His signature segments included a nightly “Quick Pick” for the betting card, “Bad Beats” and “Separated at Birth”, which humorously found doppelgangers of local athletes.
Doug also expanded to the airwaves. He doubled as co-founder and co-host of The Las Vegas Sportsline, which is a one-hour radio show on the local ESPN affiliate that focused solely on sports betting. During the weekday drive time slot, he and his co-hosts previewed games, discussed market moves and interviewed oddsmakers and professional handicappers.
Doug has covered numerous sporting events and conducted one-on-one, in-person interviews with Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Mike Krzyzewski, Jimmie Johnson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. He also worked the Vegas red carpet and interviewed celebrities at countless entertainment functions. Doug has attended the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, World Series, NCAA Tournament, bowl games, NASCAR races, Stanley Cup Final, marquee boxing and UFC cards, and the World Series of Poker. His career once even took him to Guantanamo Bay for Iraq War short- and long-form features.
Doug has over 20 years of broadcasting experience - with about 15 of those involving and/or specializing in sports betting.
